It is common for conferences in the United States to provide a 4x8 foot space (48x96 inches) to the attendees, but not always, so be careful. However, there are a number of companies that offer free templates to assist you in creating your Poster PDF. There is no official poster template for CLEO. Post a large typed copy of your abstract. Include the title, authors and affiliations on the strip in letters not less than 1-inch high. Prepare a 6-inch high headline strip that runs the full width of the poster. More material may mean less communication. Simplicity - Resist the temptation to overload the poster. The poster should be understandable without oral explanation. If you have only a few illustrations, make them large. This is still an experimental stage.īalance - The figures and tables should cover slightly more than 50% of the poster area. If you are working with an artist, show the poster layout to your colleagues and ask for comments. This will give you a good idea of proportions and balance. Rough Layout - Enlarge your best initial sketch, keeping the dimensions in proportion to the final poster. Initial Sketch - Try various styles of data presentation to achieve clarity and simplicity. Glue sticks, again, work well to attach your poster to the display board. Your table top poster should not be any larger than 36”H X 48”W. Each wing is 12” W X 36”H, with the center section being 24”W X 36”H (see diagram below). Tri-fold (table top) display boards (which are also available in the bookstore) are 36” X 48”.
